This song draws me in because it is clunky and has off moments and "clams" in some vocal lines and drum hits, etc. and it seems to be on purpose to make it quirky ---- as such it could work in a movie scene or something..... the song itself is familiar in feel and chord changes which makes it very comfortable to listen to, and for that reason something like quirkiness is what makes it interesting...
A bluesy tune that should bring a smile to a listeners face. Nice rhythm and beat count. Well done
This track would be strong for the movie 'Harlem Nights"! Great piece of work!
LC Team
Happy ,roots ragtime feel teetering on the edge of insanity , but only teetering. Good tune.
Nice old-time feel
The recording really puts you right there in the club with a stage side table. This is really very refreshing to hear and this is how its done. The great live sound is just perfect for the genera. Always love the clarinet and horns. very cabaret sound and feel. Really great job.
I get the vibe and what's been done here but lyrics are tough to hear so tough to judge. Good effort here. Keep it going!
Love it! It creates a mood! THAT is what music should do for a guy like me! I'm past trying to be impressed by technical prowess, just gimme a cool tune with some attitude!
Song has a nice swing to it. The instruments fit very well. I could hear this being played anywhere this style is played. It would fit good in a movie. Nice positive lyrics. The arrangement is good. I like the back up vocals. Good Job, keep up the good work.
Better start right now, loved the hook, the song is very memorable
a professional recording might help this song pitch. It is a cool approach to old style Chicago blues
Lyrics are very positive. Cute and old-fashioned sounding song reminiscent of a bygone era - the 1920's? This song could perhaps be useful, I would think, in the right movie.
This is really an excellent song!! Catchy tune that grabs you right away, and the lyrics are fun and inspiring! Love the arrangement as a whole, and particularly the BG vocals! This is really a cool tune!
real nice tun lyrics and nice rhytm just keep it up
Good for the genre. I'd like to sip some scotch and listen in a club setting. Singer has an overall good voice
Nice song, good words
Love this old classic feel. Lyrics are simple and right with the music. The vibe can either be from an old classic record or in a small blues club. The overall style reminds me of an alter ego version of a song by Toby Keith. "Red Solo Cup" If you haven't heard it, look it up.
This is a fun song with a very "live" feel to it. This kinda' reminds me of a Leon Redbone type song, like guys sitting around just making up a funny little ditty!
Wonderful energy in this song done within the great tradition of Chicago Blues / Show Tunes! Reminds me very much of Elvis Costello. Well done, my friend! Love it.
I'm a sucker for old school! Very cool! Nice harmonies. Cool horns.
I'm hearing distinct influences here of Elvis Costello and i love it! Very nice job from A to Z. Kudos! Reminds of a Let's Misbehave by Cole Porter.
Pretty good and fun, kinda New Orleans style
Good vocalist, appropriate for the song
It's got a joy to it you know. I'm a fan of it's looseness. I listen to a lot of Bonzo Dog Band and this isn't too far removed from something like that. It's traditional blues, and a blast to play I bet. Everyone sounds like they are having fun, and that is important for this type of arrangement.
cool idea with the chording and old world vibe
Arrangement is easy to follow. Helps the flow of the song. Nice rendition of that era
I feel like I've listened to another song from you..... but I dig this kind of rag tag style. Nice message, for some reason I kept seeing Disney's Lady and the Tramp and this being one of the songs. Ha, I think if I did review your other song I said something similar :) Your vibe is super fun and easy to listen to. I think you would be really fun to see playing live!
you have a nice grasp on the era writing wise. good use of vocal harmonies. theres an authenticity in the delivery and tones. I appreciate it. i like the vocal timbre of the lead on the 'projected' parts. seek that out. all in i enjoy it!
Like the rowdy blues feel of this. Great for a song playing in a club in a film
Cool, fun old style swing Blues. Love the rhythm and hook. Instrumentation suits the song well. Lead vocals are solid for this style. Harmonies and back up vocal ideas are fun.
Would be great for Toy Story IIII loved it
love this smooth jazz blues fusion
Great stuff reminding me of Randy Newman so obviously good market potential. Easy to listen to the song and very catchy. I enjoyed the somewhat dirty playing and moments of chaos that may or may not have been deliberate!
Love the environment
I like that nice, old-style sound, even though the panning is a bit odd. The idea is strong and may find a great path if that kind of style is needed.
Unbelievable fun listen! The stereo mix doesn't get any more stereo. This recording has personality and charm.
Good hook. Nice job , could work in commercial projects for Erik's pieces
Authentic sounding - fell like I'm sitting in a speak-easy sippin' tea. Sounds like a life recording which is very appealing. Playing is great. Arranged beautifully. The vocal fits the genre and has that in the room ambience. I enjoyed listening. Lyrics were up and bouncy. Nice piece
Nice fun song. Good lead vocal for this genre. A good blues vibe and i liked how the background vocals added something to the chorus. Good track overall. Nice piano and it felt like you guys enjoyed playing the track if that makes sense. Players were good too. The me.ody on the very stays with you as well. Good job by all!
This is a captivating song that wins you over from the begining and holds you till the last second!
Great rhythm,flow and hook!
everything is as it should!
congratulations!
this track reminds me a bit of Tom Waits...this is a cool bluesy song but it sounds like a rough mix or demo.
cool piano and "happy" vibe. not very well produced, but REAL!
I like the idea of what they're trying to do, the vocals where pretty goood, as was the piano. had an old timme bee bop feel.
This isn't the type of music I commonly listen to, but being open to most kinds of music, I like it a lot. I like its playfulness, and it's a very catchy tune. It puts me to mind of Randy Newman, both in the piano and even the voice a little. Very enjoyable, catchy tune.
I don't listen too often this genre, but this song put me in joyful mood. The melody, choruses, the beat, the voice, really good.
I can see this song being so good but the recording is so muffled. The lyrics are great and the content is just as good. The message is what the world needs right now. The keys on the production is amazing and the background vocalist sound like they would be so good if the song was mastered. I can hear the amazing talent but mixing can make or break a song.
A little bit of Jelly Ross Morton going on here. Good arrangement.
I immediately smell cigarette smoke. This sets up a bar room vibe and continues in a really cool way.
vocals are a little buried in the mix. Like the back ups a lot
Loved the old school sound and style of this track. It sounds authentic from the arrangement to the way the instruments are played to the sound of the singers vocals and delivery. Excellent work on this one!
Great Zydeco vibe to this song, sounded like the Squirrel Nut Zippers meets Louie Armstrong.Great vibe and movement to this song. I would love to hear more.
I quite like this,a rambling blues
Just needs knocking into shape a bit but great potential
Well done
Sounds like a song from a great movie soundtrack. The song that you hear when the credits are playing.
This piano piece of the song gives me the feeling of an old country western (not a bad thing) tv show/movie.
One of those tunes that keeps you listening to hear the subject content.
Liked the real instrumentation. (prove me wrong!)
Well the overall tone kind of strikes me like a Randy Newman type of song. It has an upbeat happy kind of feel to it. And the instrumentation is kind of like old time New Orleans feel Minimalistic. It's a fun song overall. It has a very positive overall vibe to it. Kind of like a bunch of friends got together to make a good natured Vaudeville kind of a song. So in this is is fun and kind of a hoot.
There has been a strong resurgence in authentic blues styles over the past decade or so, and that has remained true, alongside the country style, which this track straddles alongside a ragtime feel. I can see this working well in a Blues club or a period film. This is the kind of music that unites those of all ages, regardless of their musical preferences.
This is a cool and fun tune (yet with a serious message) that I would love to hear live..
Well done.
good vocals
Catchy foot tapping feel good tune
reminds me of the music of Ray Charles. the best time to start a good deed or say a kind word is know. I will start by telling you I enjoyed your song.
This song is super fun and super catchy. I couldn't help smile but listening to it the whole way through. The lyrics nicely match the fun and upbeat feel of thus song. It also has a really lovely harmony. This song is ultimately super positive and I truly enjoyed listening to it! I very much look forward to seeing what else you come up with!
The music sounded great...very unique sound to the song.. the instruments flowed together really well....has definitely got the bluesy feel to it keep up the good work
I don't know why, but I love this track! the playfulness just makes you want to dance the night away. I like the way you get that playful element strait away.
Great nostalgic/retro pop groove. I liked the lead vocal style of this tune; very "laid back" with no pretense of trying to impress with a trained voice. The simplicity of the instrumentation and percussion lends itself well to the overall feel of this tune. The blend of the instrumental accompaniment was very good.
reminds me of an old school movie! I could hear it on a soundtrack for a kids movie like the little rascals! Keep up the good work
The song was ok but the vocals were notary clear.
Good start but needs polish
Really nicely put together. I love the retro style including the rudimentary stereo. The instrumentation and production has a loose quality that really suits the song. Authentic rhythm track and lovely brass arrangement. I like the vocal interaction between the lead singer and the other musicians and the final piano tinkles at the end of the song.
Sounds like a fun song that would get a crowd involved. I can see this as a great song for a movie sound track, it really sets a tone and atmosphere. Feels like a character should be walking down a busy city street, getting dressed in a fancy outfit. Love the attitude of it.
Nice, well written tune. Good melody, good lyrics, pleasant listening, good upbeat vibe.
great concept
Obviously an old live recording. Standard blues song. Nice solid bass part. Full band live recording, it is hard to record this configuration properly. I have confidence that there is real talent here, just the recording made it tough to give a positive review.
Pleasant enough song
Great original blues song. Like the stripped down sound. I could drink micro brews and listen for a couple hours on a Saturday evening.
I love this style of music and can imagine listening in a a small jazz/blues club . Would. R great to listen to live
Nice upbeat jazz tempo, nice vocal tone and harmonies, sounds like a tune that would work on a film score.
Really like the feel of song, was arrahnged very well. the music seemed mixed well nothing coming out too loud. Very catchy song. Like the lyrics to song as well. Song really can evoke positive emotional respose. Like the use of horns and piano added a nice vibe through out song, kept me very intrested to hear the song all the way thorugh. Loved the live feel to song. Good Job!
The melody to the lyrics is fun to listen to as well as the words. The few instruments in the song make it work and while it has potential to be arranged in more of a big band setting, I think too much would spoil it given the bouncy, upbeat mood it's conveying.
Liked the funky, jazzy style and feel. Reminded me of The Pasadena Roof Orchestra from the 60's. Very diddly, didn't quite catch every lyric, and singer sounded a bit Bobby Darin, needing a refreshing drink a bit before the end. But, quirky and unusual, but also catchy.
Great feel-good tune reminiscent of Randy Newman's "You've got a friend in me". Enjoyed the lyrics, and the bounciness of the arrangement. The song itself could easily find itself into film, I picture a sweeping shot of the chicago skyline when I listen to this. Appropriate for rom-com and sitcom features. Good potential.
Great lyrics and melody. I loved the song.
enjoyed the panning of the drums and piano and vocals on each side. couldn't tell right away if there was a sax or clarinet, but love when a horn of some kind comes in. nice touch. I would definitely submit this for a film synch.
SMILES to you all! Bet your alot of fun to hang with! Fun song I don't have much to say other than it makes me SMILE! Sound like a bit of Hee Haw, needing some jugs to blow? Thank you for shareing!
Absolutely love this record.....Very New Orleans type of French Quarter blues...Our hats off to you and the band.
Nice song. It sounds like it has a lot of potential as a performance song. Sounds like a fun song.
I think the song has a good feel to it. Nice beat and is a feel good song. I could see this song being played in a comedy movie or a kids movie or tv show. Kind of reminds me of a song that would be played in the movie Toy Story or something like that.
This is life-enhancing music making! Solid groove from the piano and percussion. Effective use of silence from the band near the beginning. The entry of the backing voices brings a kind of fifties mood - but with a difference. Whether by accident or design, the voices do their own thing with delightful harmonic results. 6 bar phrases in among the four bar phrases give variety. Nice jazzy vocals. Nothing too sweet, nothing too perfect but everything hanging together. I could write an essay but I'd better not . . . suffice it to say I loved it!
Really a funny and easy-going song. Reminds me a bit of Ray Davies and The Kinks.... Fun groove and I like the idea behind the song and it has a great groove to it. I enjoyed the lead singers lilting voice. There is also a intriguing, fun-loving vibe to the lyrics. All in all, a nifty tune that made me smile and laugh.
Very good hook and vocal pitch, lyrics are easy to memorize.
With some work I honestly believe this song could get placed...in a TV show or possibly a film. It reminded me of Randy Newman's Pixar film work, and there's definitely commercial potential in that genre.
I love hearing tracks like this that don't fit into the pop/rock mold, that take a chance and stand out. That being said, by that same token your chances of radio airplay drop but I think film/TV placement is a better fit for this anyway.
Here's a refreshing, positive Chicago blues number that was super fun to listen to. Easygoing, memorable melody and hook make this very singable and a happy listen. Encourages people to be nice, say hello and make this world a better place...great message! The lead vocal and background vocals sound good with simple piano/sax/drum accompaniment. This is a song that all ages could enjoy listening, singing or dancing too. Great job, guys. Favorite rhyme: come or go/sweet hello
I love the piano introduction and I also like the lead vocals and the horn. Sounds a little like Scott Joplin.
GREAT JOB BOYS!!! Has a Randy Newman vocal sound...would like to hear the lead vocal up a tad in the mix, hard to understand the lyrics! But still sounds KILLER!!! LOVE all the instruments in the tune....I almost think I recognize this composer....voice sound familiar??
Again.....terrific tune...Should be in a Woody Allen Film!!!
Nice idea ....lead singer has a good style
A fun song. A bit drunk.
